Not quite a pinterest challange

So my little sisters like to take the things they see on pinterest and try to do so many of them in a couple of weeks. I on the other hand am trying my hardest to get some things done before this little man decides to join us next week. So I thought I would put some of what I have been working on for all to see. Some of the things or ideas did come from pinterest.

Adam actually made this, but it came from one of my pins so I thought I would put it on. It was suppose to be for my birthday but it was about 3 weeks late. But that is how I am use to my birthday stuff because all my siblings are in October so people usually remember my birthday then. Anyway it was super good, I would just suggest cutting the strawberries up more and you have to let it sit out of the freezer for about 15 min before you can cut it.

These are some burp cloths that I made. My sister in law gave me a couple of old ones made out of towels like these and they are my favorite. So I took a couple of old towels and cut them up and put a binding on them, and the plus side they were cheep. Super easy? You would think so, but putting binding on a towel is not as easy as it sounds. So they don't look the greatest but I think they will suffice. I didn't have enough binding so I found some old flannel and put it on one side of a couple of them.

I saw this on pinterest. I really hated my small piece of fabric that they call a nursing cover. I am not a small girl and putting a baby under it did not work. So I am excited about this.

These are some receiving blankets I made out of scraps of fabric that my mom had. I only had to buy backing for them.

I learned how to put this fun border on a premade quilt and I love it.

This is what I made before Conference on Saturday. I saw a pin that showed how to make crispy hashbrowns so I thought I would give it a try because no one ever makes them crispy enough for my husband. Well I succeeded, the one he ate he said was a little too crispy but the ones pictured here were not enough. Now I need to find a happy medium. The waffles were actually from 2 different recipes from pinterest. I sort of made them my own way, and they were a hit. I probably won't make them both at the same again though. I thought I could just switch back and forth when needed but then the hashbrowns are either cold or the waffle is.

This is a yummy cereal that I found a recipe for. I am still trying to use up our food, even though I am not sure we are ever going to move. But this was great with barley, oats, cracked wheat, fruit and nuts.

These are something I found for Adam's breakfast. He leaves before I am up in the morning so he needs something he can grab and go. Next time we will have to just muffin cups though because the egg stuck really bad.

For Adam's birthday I made a list of 100 things I love about my husband and filled a couple of buckets with some of the silly stuff from the lists. I think he liked it, because he told everyone he saw about it.

This is what Adam worked on all week. His is the one on the right but he worked on all 3.

Now this is me trying to get the baby to come by going on long walks. Really all it does is make me hurt less, so I guess it is a good alternative.

Now the baby is going to be here soon and I think we are as ready as we can get. Even though I still have projects I need to get done.

I blame Val

A few weeks ago we went to our cabin because a couple of my mom's sisters came to visit. Cheznie is a very picky eater. My aunt Val and her kids showed her this was how to eat peanut butter. Now this is how my daughter snacks.

Isn't she so cute. We love you Val, hope to see you again soon so you can teach my daughter more fun stuff.

Busy Summer

This has been a very busy summer so far.  We are trying to buy a house a little closer to Adam’s work. But the place is smaller than where we are now so we had to get rid of some stuff and so we had a yard sale. Then it was our wedding anniversary. We decided to not spend much on it so we just walked through some of the shops around Vernal and then went out to eat. I can’t believe it has been 3 years already and I just keep loving this man more.

Then we went camping. We were supposed to go the weekend of our anniversary but it didn’t work out so we decided to go the next weekend. So for the 4th of July we decided to go camping in Yellowstone. It didn’t turn out to be much of a camping trip though. We were a little late planning it, because of the week before, so as we looked things up it showed everything was full. So we decided to stay in a hotel but even that was a long ways away because even after you left the park you still had to drive slowly because it was still a national forest. But we were glad for the hotel when it started raining the first day and continued to do so on and off the whole time we were there. Anytime we tried to have a picnic it would start raining or even hail! It was a lot of fun though, we really enjoyed seeing all the natural wonders and beautiful scenery and the wildlife. Some of the stuff there seemed like we were on an alien planet. The geysers, mud pots, steam vents and such are so amazing and because of all the minerals so colorful. We even saw a grizzly and her cub about 15 yards from the road. We also seemed to find the windiest road in Wyoming, maybe even America, it was crazy. But a great little vacation in all.

Then it was Cheznie’s birthday. I can’t believe my baby is already 2. She is such a smarty. She will repeat almost anything we say so we have to be careful with some of the things we say. She loves books, music, coloring, dolls, movies, and animals, especially her stuffed ones. She even loves animals more than people, that is pretty much the only way to win her over. She is such a little spitfire. It is her way or the highway; she is a true 2 year old. She is happy one minute and throwing a tantrum the next. She has extreme stranger anxiety – while camping we were at the bathrooms and a guy walked out and as he passed said hi to us. Cheznie freaked out. She doesn’t like people to look at her or touch her. But she has never liked to be messed with; she will now let me put lotion on her most of the time. But hates being washed at bath time or getting her hair done. She is such a sweetheart too. Whenever Adam or I sneeze or cough she asks “are you ok?” Most of the time she shares well and says thank you quite often.

And we are done with pictures
Spoiled baby!
We forgot to sing before cutting the cake! Adam didn't want to just put 2 candles on so it is in the shape of a 2.
She doesn't usually write on the walls and knows it is wrong. That's what the look on her face is for. Luckily for the walls it was dry erase marker but not for the clothes or the playpen. If anyone knows how to get that out let me know.
She still likes her alone time and this is where I found her one day so she could get away from one of the kids I watch.

Then we had Adam’s family reunion (at Miller Flats, near Nathan’s house) and that was a mess. Chez was so sick the first day we had to head over to Nathan’s house to do laundry and get some medicine. The next day there was an accident and we ended up sending two people to the hospital and the rest of us pretty much just sat around. Then the last day Adam and I were sick the whole way home! And we seem to have spread it around plenty.

This weekend my dad arranged for us to go to the Clarkston Pageant, up by Logan. So Friday Adam got off work early and we headed up there. We spent the night hung out for the morning and headed home. It was fun to see family even though it was such a short trip.

Now I think we are here for a little while, at least I hope so! Because in 2 weeks we are moving and I need to get some things done!

Now if you have lasted this long you can stop reading if you don’t want to read my ranting. WHY IS EVERYTHING DONE ON THE INTERNET! So last October we cancelled our internet because it was getting too expensive. Then to top things off my little car died a few months ago and we had to get rid of it. So I can’t just drive to the library to use the internet. We are trying to buy a house and the realtor and loan officer keep emailing me things instead of calling to tell me something, this is especially bad when it is something that needs to get done ASAP. I have told them we don’t have internet here, but they still do it. One of the particularly bad ones was when they had someone else email me about something getting done and I had no idea what it was and would have deleted it. I would not have made it in time had they not warned me 2 days later that it would expire that day. This is just one example but it was a pretty big deal for me. We should be moving here in the next few weeks and then I am most certainly getting the internet again.

Someone new is coming continued

We are having a boy! Yeah! Except he is going to have to get really use to wearing pink because that is all we have. So if anyone has any boy stuff they want to get rid of we would be most grateful. Adam and I did go to some yard sales the other day and found a few cute things. We were kind of the late comers and so one lady was done and just gave us everything for free. So that was pretty awesome.

For Memorial Day we decided to go to the cabin. There were a few snow drifts as you got close to the cabin but nothing really bad. UNTIL you got to the road down to the cabin. I was driving Braden's expedition and he has now learned that I should not be behind the wheel of that thing. Sorry Braden! I also learned that I don’t spend enough time at the cabin. We had to turn on the propane and I knew how to do that but I didn’t realize you have to wait about 10 minutes before you can turn anything on because the gas takes a while to move through the pipes. Also we had no water because I didn’t know how to turn it on. But we think the real problem was that it was still frozen. Never the less we enjoyed being at the cabin and on the mountain. It is really hard to get there being so far away and Adam working so much.

Now a funny story! My siblings started a tie for my dad for Father's day that you color on and iron to set the color. Well I was the last to receive it and I think that was not a good idea. I received it on Thursday and was trying to still get it there for Father's day on Sunday. So Cheznie and I opened it and drew on it and ironed it. The ironing is where it all went wrong! I had it between 2 sheets of paper like it said but when I was done it looked awful. There was a stain on it somehow and I know it was not there before because it was where we had drawn and other colors had disappeared. So I had to wash and dry it carefully and quickly, recolor it (fixing up others marks, SORRY to those others), and again iron it. In the end it looked ok but then had to still get it to the post office. So I packed up the three children here and we went and mailed the package, making sure it would get there by Father's Day. The next morning my loving father called and said...HE WAS COMING HERE!

This is what he brought though!

Isn't it beautiful! And the bedspread was made by my Mom. Thanks again Dad!

Now some random fun pictures.
