Someone New is Coming

I know it has been a really long time, but we have some exciting news. We have are having a new baby in October. October 22nd to be exact, right in the middle of birthday week. When we told Cheznie there was a baby in my tummy she tried to feed it with one of her baby bottles, it was so cute. We are so happy, after last fall we need some good things happening in our lifes.

Now here are some cute random pictures of our peanut.

New Friend

This is the new little guy at our house. The first day was a little tough and I was frazzled having 5 children at my house. But I am getting used to it and he really does just sleep most of the day. He is good therapy for me, especially after this fall with all its ups and downs. He is a great listener.

Cheznie likes him too, except when I am holding him. Hopefully this will prepare her for when we get to have a new one of our own.

Thanks BJ for letting us share your little man!

Here is a picture of Cheznie decorating our 3 foot tree. She is so cute and so smart!

Celebrating a year of Cheznie

My baby is a year old now. I can’t believe it. We love her so much and are so glad she came to be part of our family. She is so fun and such a happy baby. Some of her favorites are music and dancing, books, balls, water and rocking. She likes to sit against something and rock into it like a person, a wall, or pretty much anything. She is getting really good at imitating us and loves to be where ever the action is. She can say Dad, Mom and Ball, and will try to imitate other words we say. She is a great eater and will eat almost anything and everything we put on her tray. She is not daring enough to walk yet but has taken a few steps here and there and loves climbing up and down things.

Cheznie kind of had 4 birthday parties. We had some friends over for cake the Sunday before her birthday. Then she opened the presents we gave her the morning before because we were heading camping with Adams family. Then we had cupcakes on her birthday with the Scows. Then we had more cupcakes and opened presents with some of my family before heading back to Vernal.

Busy Anniversary

For our anniversary this year we kept ourselves very busy. It was my high school class reunion and my dad’s work was celebrating its one millionth hour of safety and they were going to take us on a bout ride. So we headed down to Moab for a fun weekend. About an hour into our drive I get news they are going to life flight my mom to Salt Lake. So the rest of the way to Moab I was wondering if we really should be heading to Salt Lake. But when we got to the Moab hospital she was just flying out to Grand Junction and we got to see her before she left.

So as you can imagine it was an interesting weekend. Saturday we went on a boat ride, went swimming, and my class reunion. I was not that social in school and did not think I ever would be going to my reunion. But because we were going to be in town any way Adam and I decided to go and it was fun to see some of my class mates. But I really could not focus on things so we left early.

Sunday after church we went to visit my mom, she had gotten home a couple of hours earlier and was looking a little better. After visiting with my parents we headed to the cabin where we just relaxed and had fun. My uncle Lyman even let us take his 4 wheelers out for a ride. Then we headed home Monday night, went to a movie with Adam’s parents and then went and visited with some of my cousins.

Then on Tuesday we went swimming, to the temple and then headed back to vernal. That was the day of our anniversary so we stopped at Texas Roadhouse in Grand Junction. It was a crazy busy weekend, which reflects our life perfectly. My life with Adam has been crazy, chaotic and perfect. I can’t believe we have been married for 2 years now. We are loving life together and look forward to the adventures that are ahead of us.
I didnt really take a whole lot of pictures because we were so busy.

Here are just some cute pics from the 4th of July

Silly Baby

My baby is so silly. She has so many binkies, most from people giving them to us but when we moved they all seemed to disappear so I had to go get more. Then the old ones reappeared. We keep them in a box in her bottom drawer and she loves it when that drawer is opened. She has always known that ALL binkies are hers, so she pulls them out and sticks them in her mouth one at a time. She doesn’t really have a favorite one it’s just as she is crawling around she will spit out the one in her mouth and stick a new one in there. This can entertain her for quite a while.

I have a couple more children to watch during the day and one of them is only 4 months old. So we got out Cheznie’s old bouncer and Cheznie is thrilled. I put it away when her legs started hanging over the edge, even though she loved it. Now she climbs in it and sits there and bounces. It is so cute!

A lesson on Memorial Day

Adam and I learned a great lesson on Memorial Day. It didn't have to do with those that serve this country, although we are very greatful to them. It had to do with the LDS Pioneers. Adam's brother invited us to go camping with them and we took them up on it. They bought a camper and wanted to try it out and we would sleep in our tent. However, even though Vernal is warming up, the mountains just above us are not!
The wind was blowing so hard our tent was 5 feet away from where we first laid it out. Then Cheznie was afraid of it because the wind was blowing so hard it was loud and blowing all over. It was too cold to just sit outside so we either sat in the loud tent, the camper, or snuggled by the fire. We should have taken that as a clue and just went home for the night. But instead I got the baby snuggled in warm clothes and thought as soon as we get into the tent and snuggle down for the night it will be fine. I wasn't worried about Chez being too cold because of her layers but we were freezing. After hours of dozing for a few minutes at a time and rearranging blankets a few times. Cheznie woke up because she was uncomfortable (because of all the layers on her she couldn't move) around 2 a.m. and we decided to just head home and come back later in the morning for our stuff. When we got in the truck it said it was 30 degrees.
Now for the lesson: the pioneers did not have the luxury of just jumping into a truck with heaters and driving to somewhere with nice warm beds. I had never thought of the pioneers sleeping before in the wind and the cold. They were probably much more exhausted than us from working and walking all day long but still it is soooo hard to sleep in the cold. And then how hard would it be to get up with a bad nights sleep and then have to keep going. My thoughts were always how hard it would be to have to keep walking and with standing the cold. But to me I think now the bitter cold nights would have been so much worse, than to have to keep going on.

Now on a lighter note here are a few pics of Cheznie's first camping trip

Lots of layers for the cold mountain weather

Adam size fire

Riding the 4wheeler (it was a bit jerky at first so she was a little scared)

Every time we sat down to eat Chez freaked out turns out we are getting more teeth

Flaming Gorge

Funny Brothers

At a look out point, such pretty scenery the other side is all brown and there is a mine

This is not camping obviously but Cheznie has a new dance move and it makes us laugh, not really sure where she got it from. Wait till the end to see it.

About a month ago Adam went to the dentist in Moab. It was a 5 hour cleaning, fillings, 2 root canals...  That day he was pretty out of it and tired. But the next day this is what he did.

It didn't keep him down too long. We went to sand dune arch and played in the sand. it was a lot of fun and it was nice to get out for a while. It was fun to have Jacob and Nikki's family with us. The boys had fun playing in the sand while Cheznie had fun eating it.

Here are some more pictures of the fun things we have been doing and Cheznie's favorite things.

We had a BBQ with Al and Anna Marie and Jared and Christy's family. Cheznie does love her food.

While swinging Cheznie just laughs and laughs
She likes to stand on the bathroom counter and look in the mirror
She loves books, preferably when she is holding them of course
And just like her mother she loves Ice Cream

These pictures I took after she ate last night. I set her on the table to brush off the food that is always all over her and this is what happened...

mmm... good to the last bite
